The Norwegian duo M2M, made up of Marion Raven and Marit Larsen, was a formative part of practically every millennial’s life. They were huge in the late 90s to the early 2000s and then … they seemed to just disappear.
That’s why Filipinos went pretty nuts when a photo of the two came out in late 2024, along with a video of them singing “The Day You Went Away,” sparking hopes of a reunion tour. And not too long after, they did indeed announce a reunion tour: the Better Endings Tour, which will see them perform in Indonesia, Malaysia, Hong Kong, the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore, and Norway. They sold out day 1 really quickly (I was very lucky to get a ticket!), and fortunately for more fans, they announced a day 2 in Manila and shows in Cebu and Davao.
As expected, the show was delightful and was practically a karaoke session for the crowd. Marion and Marit even complimented the audience’s collective singing voice 😀
Check out my video of the concert.
Aside from singing their classics, they each sang some songs from their solo work, and I have to say that I really love Marit’s music. We also got a little bit of insight into why they stopped performing together and how their paths crossed again. I’m just so glad they sorted things out.
Sidenote: It’s a little funny realizing that the musicians I enjoyed when I was younger can now be considered legacy acts, but if that means that they’re going to keep performing and making the time to visit the Philippines, I am most definitely not complaining.
