We’re always up for whatever, so when we saw Facebook ads for an event called Kasaysayan by the Manila Wrestling Federation (MWF), which they’re staging together with Kyushu Pro Wrestling, we decided to check it out.
We went in there completely blind, with zero idea about the event, the wrestlers, the MWF, and Pinoy wrestling in general. Nevertheless, we ended up having a fantastic time, learning about wrestlers like Chelsea Marie, Patricia Ligaia, Joya, and Jake de Leon. We were fully invested in Main Maxx’s victory and were amused when the fans started cheering for a guy in an orange shirt whom they called … Orange Shirt.

Wrestlers from Japan were also in attendance, and even fought in a match.
Anyway, it was a great show, and it’s super fun being in a crowd that’s obviously enthusiastic about Pinoy wrestling and are very familiar with the storylines. It’s been days and we still couldn’t stop saying “Yakapin … ANG LIWANAG!” so thank you, Aaron Liwanag. Are we going to start following Pinoy wrestling as well? I can’t say that for sure yet, but we definitely won’t say no to another opportunity to watch a match or two.
