The 2018 State of the Nation Address (SONA), much like every SONA in the past and in the future, was marked by protests. As always, the signs and effigies were creative, but no less serious in their intent to highlight injustices and government incompetence.





There was also a stronger call to end drug war-related extrajudicial killings.





Freedom of speech may be enshrined in the Constitution, but it doesn’t always feel that way, especially nowadays, when speaking out is more important than ever.
