In the early 2010s, a new restaurant in Kamuning caught our eye. It was GoodFellas Steaks and Burgers, which evidently had an Italian mafia theme based on the name of the place and the dishes. Trying it was once of the best dining decisions we ever made.
Inside, GoodFellas looked like the kind of place you can imagine people having discreet meetings in, with lots of dark wood paneling and leather couches. The vibe was entirely different though. It was nice and cozy, and the manager and the servers were super welcoming.
GoodFellas quickly became one of our favorite spots. We tried so many of their offerings, such as Carlito’s Gang, which is Angus salpicao and cost P375; the WiseGuy burger, a bacon cheeseburger priced at P295; The Freshman, which are P185 grilled fish skewers; the House Steak, a thick slab of Angus steak that cost P325, unthinkable these days; the spicy Flamingo Wings, which cost :220; and our absolute favorite, the Pat and Geno’s cheeseteak, P275 with fries and raspberry iced tea. The name combined the two famous cheesesteak places in Philadelphia and I am proud to say that Pat and Geno’s smokes them both. It was just that tasty.
I also used to order an extra serving of beef gravy, which I couldn’t find in many places at the time.

GoodFellas was the site of our dates, family dinners, mother–daughter lunches, and birthday celebrations, so we were gutted when it shut down around 2015. I’m really glad their Facebook page is still up, along with all the pics they posted. It’s great to look back on such a nice restaurant, and even after they’ve been gone for more than a decade, I still wish they’ll somehow come back at some point.
